Yb401 is a single clad true single-mode fiber with an MFD of 6.0 μ m at 1060 nm, a core absorption of 140 dB/m at 915 nm, and low core chemical properties. This type of fiber is highly suitable for low-power lasers and amplifiers pumped by single-mode laser diodes. Yb401 is equivalent to the low photoluminescence decrease of Yb501 fiber.
